What does the book of romans teach us

Romans is written to fulfil Paul’s mandate to establish and nurture his Roman readers in a life of faith marked by obedience and holiness to preach the gospel to them.

Romans explains how faith in Jesus justifies all people and creates a unified, multiethnic family and a path to righteousness. Romans explains how faith in Jesus justifies all people and creates a unified, multiethnic family and a path to righteousness.

We suggest that one of Paul’s main purposes in writing the letter is to persuade the Jewish and Gentile Christians in Rome to build up a Christian community net work, which he does by arguing in accordance with his understanding ot the gospel.

Definition of Romans

: a letter on doctrine written by St.Paul to the Christians of Rome and included as a book in the New Testament — see Bible Table.

“’Faith’ [in the context of this passage] is not saving faith, but rather faithful stewardship, the kind and quantity required to use one’s own particular gift. Every believer receives the exact gift and resources he needs to fulfill his role in the body of Christ.”

Earlier Jesus told his listeners, “render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s; and to God the things that are God’s.” —Matthew 22:21 (NASB). Jesus was clearly teaching obedience to the Roman laws and also to obey God’s laws.

Faith, not law

Paul now brings the word law back into the discussion: “For the promise that he would inherit the world did not come to Abraham or to his descendants through the law but through the righteousness of faith” (verse 13).

People worshipped the gods in temples where they made sacrifices of animals and precious things. The Romans believed that blood sacrifices were the best way to communicate with the gods. Sheep were often sacrificed to Jupiter. Sometimes a temple was built to only worship one of the gods.
