What do you do on a boring bus

Passing the Time. Write or draw to pass the time. Bring a notebook and writing supplies to journal or doodle. You could also bring an adult coloring book and some colored pencils to exercise your creativity, or some postcards to write to family and friends.

Sit towards the middle of the bus

To find the safest seat on a bus, head for the middle. Choose a row as centrally located as possible and sit on the aisle, choosing the side of the bus farthest from opposing traffic. In America, this means sitting on an aisle seat on the right-hand side of the bus.

Scavenger hunt

One is to divide the bus into two teams, say left and right, and from a list of items (think mirrors, food receipts, pens, condoms, foreign currency, toothbrush, eye mask, etc.) each team can scour the bus to search for the items. When found, each should be held up the item to the person keeping score.

Second only to air travel, traveling by bus is one of the safest modes of transportation in the United States. … Bus travel is four times safer than passenger rail travel (another one of the safest modes of transportation), and it’s a staggering 50 times safer than private car travel.

Six multi-axle Volvo buses will have toilets and two of them will also have in-house pantry services.

The passenger seat next to the driver of an automotive vehicle. [So called because this seat is said to be the most dangerous one in the event of an accident.]

Experts say airplanes are among the safest indoor environments in the world. Recent studies have shown the risk of getting COVID-19 on an airplane remains low (even when seated next to someone) due to masks, enhanced cleaning and airflow systems.

Even during poorest of weather conditions, yellow is the safest color for moving vehicles. The school buses’ black lettering stands out against the hue, and according to research, “Lateral peripheral vision for detecting yellows is 1.24 times greater than for red.”

Air travel fatalities have been recorded in each of the last 15 years, with a total of 137 deaths in 2020 due to air crashes.

Aircraft temperatures are generally kept at between 22 and 24 degrees, which is about the same air temperature of most office environments. The extremes of the range reach from 18 to 27 degrees.

Travelling by plane can be a scary experience for people of all ages and backgrounds, particularly if they’ve not flown before or have experienced a traumatic event. It is not something to be ashamed of: it is no different from the personal fears and dislikes of other things that very many people have.

It reflects sunlight.

The main reason why aircraft are painted white or light colours is to reflect sunlight. … Painting a passenger plane white minimises both the heating and potential damage from solar radiation not only when the airplane is in flight, but also when it’s parked on the runway.

You should always bring jeans with you on your trip because they go with almost everything. But you should not wear skinny or tight jeans while flying. All that time you’re sitting on a plane, especially one that is over ten hours, will make your skinny jeans feel very uncomfortable.

Tight waistbands, skirts, blouses, shirts are all a no-no while traveling, for the simple reason that our bodies naturally swell when we fly. You want to avoid cramping by moving around in your seat and the aisles, whenever possible. Restrictive clothing does not pair well with bloating, also common on airplanes.

A famous exception to the rule is Air New Zealand. Most of Air NZ’s fleet of planes is painted partially black or completely black, like the Boeing 787-9 in the photo below. Black is Air NZ’s brand color and this bold livery makes them one of the most easily identifiable planes in the world.

The primary reason airplanes don’t fly over the Pacific Ocean is because curved routes are shorter than straight routes. Flat maps are somewhat confusing because the Earth itself isn’t flat. Rather, it’s spherical. As a result, straight routes don’t offer the shortest distance between two locations.

Path of least resistance. Aluminum leads current. Lightning will usually hit a protruding part of the plane, such as the nose or the tip of the wing. The aircraft then flies through the lightning flash, which travels along the body, having chosen the path of least resistance.

Painting an aircraft white helps to reflect the sunlight and minimize the amount of energy needed to keep the plane comfortable. Modern planes that are made from composite materials need even more protection from the sun as they can be damaged by UV radiation, which is another reason why white paint is used.
