What Did Kim Burrell Say During The Church Choir? Singer Lands Herself With Yet Another Controversy

Kim Burrell is a famous American gospel singer. She is known for songs such as I See A Victory, Sweeter, Holy Ghost, I Found Him, etc.

The Grammy-nominated gospel star is trending on the Internet as she recently made a snarky remark. She has so been the target of criticism since yesterday. What did she say?

What Did Kim Burrell Say During The Church Choir?

Kim Burrell called the church folks UGLY while visiting the Church Choir on July 18, 2022.

Burrell went as a guest soloist at Pastor Brian Carn’s church. She opened her remarks to defend the controversial host pastor, who was part of many scandals.

The gospel singer said: “Most don’t understand his personality because he is truth personified, and he tells the type of fact that makes most uncomfortable, cause who likes to be called ‘you’re just ugly?

“No one likes to be called, especially when they have realized it,” continued Burell.

“Most don’t get upset until they know the bad thing about themselves, and then some people understand it and say, oh, I saw the ugly, too. I just wanted to let you know.”

Burrell intended to make the listeners laugh; however, the crowd’s response seemed dry. The groups took it as inappropriate, although she was joking.

Burrell has received criticism before, not just for this incident. In 2016, Burrell had called homosexuality “perverted.”

Netizens React To Kim Burrell Shady Remarks

After making a snarky pulpit remark, Burrell is trending on social media platforms. She is facing criticism after people have found her words dry and inappropriate for preparing a holy audience.

@GrandeBeauty says on Twitter: “Kim Burrell is just an example of why many people worship at home. “Church” has become so abusive. So many say any and everything to their congregation. It has become self-gratifying at its finest.”

Similarly, @letgreglive_ has tweeted: “The most disturbing thing about the Kim Burrell video is the echoes of amen and laughter from the crowd. She is a product of a church culture that breeds xenophobia, homophobia, and patriarchy.”

Business executive John Moore has disapproved the Burrell’s words. He says on Facebook: “She did all this right before she was about to sing and attempt to take the church into worship. If we want the fact, Kim has always been lacking flavor and sour at the mouth. She has been issuing rude insults for years, and churches pay her to do it. I don’t get why we allow church celebrities to talk to people.

Meanwhile, some have also supported Burrell. Brooke Hamilton, an EEW Magazine reader, says: “People need to lighten up, She was joking, and her words were not meant to be serious. I’m not saying she should have started a ministry engagement that way, but I’m just saying she did not mean any harm. At least, I don’t think so.”

Who Is Kim Burrell’s Husband?

Joseph Wiley is the ex-husband of Kim Burrell. He is a famous American singer for songs like No Competition, Overdose, and Sweet Sweet Spirit.

The couple shares a son named Christian Joseph Wiley together.

As of 2022, Kim Burrell’s net worth is USD 5 million.
