For her big day, Sophia Bush wore a stunning custom gown designed by the renowned designer Monique Lhuillier. The dress showcased peach Oklahoma tea roses, deep orange California poppies, warm green and inky Italian olives, and butterfly ranunculus. Additionally, scanned imagery of the couple’s bees was incorporated into the floral prints, symbolizing their first project as a couple – creating a beehive together.
Monique Lhuillier was honored to design the wedding gown for her long-time friend Sophia, creating a custom print to tell their love story. To complete the look, Sophia worked with her stylist, Kevin Michael Ericson, who paired the gown with diamond floral earrings from Briony Raymond New York and Monique Lhuillier heels.
The couple decided to host their wedding in Oklahoma, where Grant Hughes is from. They used this opportunity to shine a spotlight on Tulsa and the progressive justice work happening there. Leading up to the wedding, they organized welcome drinks, a walking tour, and other events to acquaint their guests with the city’s rich history and values.
For the reception and after-party, Sophia Bush changed into two additional dresses. The first was an ivory strapless gown with a cape, designed by Emilia Wickstead. She wore a pair of Jimmy Choo heels, dyed to match the gown’s color, and adorned with two brooches by Beladora Jewelry, sewn on by Grant Hughes’ best man.
For the after-party at Leon Russell’s Church Studio, Sophia donned a Cristina Ottaviano minidress, which she paired with ivory and silver cowboy boots, showing off her fun and playful side.
