Singer and songwriter Wes Scantlin has a net worth of $500 thousand. Scantlin was born Wesley Reid Scantlin on June 9, 1972 in Kansas City, Missouri. At an early age, he already discovered his love for music. He has been the guitarist and lead vocalist for the American post-grunge band Puddle of Mudd since 1997 after releasing their debut album Stuck.
Despite the members of the band changing over time, Scantlin is the only person who has remained in the group since the beginning and is currently the only remaining founder of Puddle of Mudd. Known for their heavy metal music, Scantlin states that he was influenced by some of the most iconic rock bands of all time including Aerosmith, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Van Halen and AC/DC. He sometimes goes on tour with Alice in Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell as he played acoustic Alice in Chains songs.
In 2001, the band released their most popular album, Come Clean, which has sold almost 4 million copies in the US. In total, the band has released five albums, including Life on Dispplay (2003), Famous(2007), and Volume 4: Songs in the Key of Love & Hate (2009). However, none have been as popular as Come Clean. Scantlin has been recognized for his contributions to the rock and music industry by being named one of the Top 100 Heavy Metal Vocalists by Hit Parader.
