Wayne Brady was born Wayne Alphonso Brady on June 2, 1972. His parents are from West Indies. His birthplace is Columbus Georgia but he later moved to Orlando, Florida to stay with his grandmother. He is of African American descent. In 1989 he graduated from the Dr. Philips High School in Orlando. In 1990 he received his PhD from the University of Miami.
The actor began acting in community theater at the age of 16. He also performed in the Orlando improv company SAK Comedy Lab (one of Florida’s most famous and largest entertainment venues with 250 guests).
