Andrei Zeltser was an IT worker who was shot and killed by the State Security Committee of the Republic of Belarus in Minsk. His demise took place on September 28, 2021 when the Belarusian KGB raided his apartment.
Moreover, Zeltser was believed to be working against the Belarusian government as a dissident. He was allegedly an opposition supporter. Following his death, his wife was also detained.

After the incident in September, the video of his shooting got broadcast on several Belarusian national news channels. More than 100 people were arrested who were involved in sharing the video on social media.
But after a few months, once again, the video has resurfaced on the internet. It is getting viral on social media yet again, especially on Reddit and Twitter. The shooting was recorded by cameras in and around the apartment.
IT Worker Got Shot: What Happened?
Andrei Zeltser was shot by the Belarusian government after they described him as a “dissident.”
On September 28, 2021, a few members of the Belarusian KGB entered Zeltser’s apartment and approached him with guns. Following that, he took a pistol out and shot at one of the officers.
In response to that, he was brutally shot and killed.
The KGB officers received a tip that said, “members of an extremist group with ties to the opposition, supposedly, lived in the apartment.” It was referred to Andrei Zeltser and his wife, Maria.
