Was There A Shooting At The Fashion Show Mall Las Vegas Today? False Alarm Explained

In Las Vegas, the Fashion Show Mall was under panic after people reported hearing of a gun shooting. The incident took place with the suspect running around the place.

Wednesday, gunfire was reported causing a panic over the Vegas city strip, but fortunately, Metro police gave some pleasing news assuring no one was shot and no trace of shots fired.

Rumors Of Shooting At The Fashion Show Mall Las Vegas Today

A panic sparked inside the Las Vegas Fashion Show Mall on Wednesday after reported gunfire. The shooter was still said to be inside the mall. But while inquiring the police, they reported nothing much happened in the mall, and no threat was found.

Las Vegas Metro police spokesperson confirmed that no active shooting has happened in the mall. However, around 4 p.m., someone stole something from a store inside the mall and ran off.

He also damaged the mall property, which possibly created a noise. As a result, people around believed it was gunfire.

The witnesses claimed that the sound was like a gunshot creating panic inside the mall. However, officials also added no proof to prove the shooting has been obtained as of now. Nevertheless, the suspect also got arrested near the mall.

Likewise, the metro police who looked over the case did not report finding any guns as well on the suspect, which makes it quite clear no shooting happened, but the sound came off the destruction that the culprit caused to the mall’s property.

Last Saturday, a similar incident happened, which is totally unrelated to this case at the MGM Grand hotel. After a man threw a rock at the hotel, panic on the Strip occurred, mistaken for gunfire, stated 8NewsNow.

Unlike the current situation, a tragic incident occurred last year in the Fashion Show Mall at 1:30 p.m. on 31 December 2021. A 66-year-old woman was fatally shot in the chest, according to the cops. She was rushed to the UMC, where she died.

Then, Metro police lieutenant David Valenta spoke to the media following the investigation of that case. He reported that the unfortunate occurrence happened during the robbery in the mall parking.

When a husband and wife got out of their car in the parking garage, an unidentified man approached them and tried to grab the woman’s purse. A little bit of struggle also happened when the lady ended up getting shot.

She was a tourist who might have come to Vegas to have fun with her beloved husband on New Year’s Eve. But unfortunately, the shooter was still on the run, and police were trying to trace the car he had fled on.

Has The Accused Been Arrested?

The accused of the Fashion Show Mall was arrested near the mall. He had stolen something from the store inside the mall and tried to flee. Maybe at the same moment, he destroyed the property of the place, making a big noise, which sounded like a gunshot.

As a result, people in the Las Vegas mall panicked. It was obvious looking at the current mass shootings happening in different parts of the state. Additionally, near the new year, a tourist woman was shot and killed in the garage of the same mall.
