Prior to the gunfight, former NYPD officer and verified Twitter user John Cardillo dubbed Ramos an “illegal alien” and said Border Patrol was pursuing him.
The tweets caused widespread discussion online, but fact-checking website Snopes stated that there was no evidence that Ramos was an immigrant. According to KPRC-TV, the teen was possibly based in Uvalde, which is 85 miles west of San Antonio.
Meanwhile, Texas State Senator Roland Gutierrez informed CNN that Salvador Ramos was purportedly from North Dakota, according to Texas state police.
On May 24, a horrific firefight at Robb Elementary School in Texas killed at least 19 children and two adults. Salvador Ramos, the suspected gunman, was said to be armed with a revolver and a rifle and to have smashed his car outside the school before opening fire.

Hundreds of social media posts have speculated on Salvador Ramos’ identity, with some claiming he was transsexual without evidence.
Several tweets, many of which have since been removed, showed photographs purportedly depicting Ramos dressed in feminine apparel; conspiracy media picked up these narratives, including InfoWars, and politicians, notably Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ), who later deleted the post.
However, it was shortly discovered that none of the photographs were of Ramos or could be verified as such.
Apprehensive Ad 995, a Reddit user, claimed that one of the photos ascribed to Ramos was actually of them, saying, “It’s not me, I don’t even reside in Texas.”

The teen had murdered his grandmother before arriving at school at 11:32 a.m., armed with two assault guns. However, he was eventually shot down by responding authorities.
“Texans around the state are grieving for the victims of this senseless atrocity and for the town of Uvalde,” Governor Greg Abbott said after the horrific occurrence.”
“Cecilia and I are heartbroken by this tragic loss, and we urge all Texans to unite in their support for those who are hurting. We are very much grateful to the brave first responders who fought tirelessly to protect Robb Elementary School.”
