Richard Philip Henry John Benson (10 March 1955 – 10 May 2022) was a British-Italian guitarist, singer, and television personality. He is recognized as one of the worst guitar players ever. Benson has released dozens of albums to little fanfare. His guitar methods are unorthodox.
He played in some projects and some of the people who commented on his videos say that he was really talented guitarist until the 2000s when he suffered arthrosis. Soon after he found that he is sick, he tried to commit suicide but survived. Now he is barely able to walk because of that accident.
Of course, there are other people which claimed that Richard Benson was still the same in the past 30-40 years and he is doing all of that stuff on purpose.
In November 2016, Benson and his wife Ester Esposito appeared in a video on Repubblica. it was where they revealed financial problems and asked for donations to pay for medical procedures.
