Despite the protests and demand to arrest the killer of Namhla Mtwa, the authorities have not taken any action to provide justice for the innocent victim.
In April 2022, a 35-year-old woman was shot multiple times in her car when she arrived at her home in Sidwadawa View in Mthatha. She was declared dead at the scene.
Following the murder, people have found out that she suffered for 17 years in an abusive relationship. So now, people are protesting to get the killer into jail.
Was Namhla Mtwa Killer Arrested?
Namhla Mtwa’s killer was not arrested. However, many people have marched on the streets demanding justice for the victim.
Mtwa was shot nine times in her car and died at the scene on April 2022. She had suffered multiple gunshots in her upper body.
Her death led to a national outcry after her sister, Sanga Nozintathu Mtwa, claimed that Namhla had been in an abusive relationship with her boyfriend Mfesane Bhekizulu for 17 years, reports Sowetan Live.
She suffered horrifying gender-based violence when in a relationship. Her sister shared the wounds on her body from the violence on social media following her death.
The 25-year-old was trying to get out of the relationship, and her sister argued that it was the reason why she was killed. Her boyfriend is the suspect in the case, but no arrests have been made.
