Was Marcus Kruger the sexually assaulted 20-year-old from the Blackhawks? Here’s what we know about the whole Brad Aldrich allegations and victims.
Marcus Kruger is a Swedish professional ice hockey player who plays for the ZSC Lions of the National League (NL).
Chicago Blackhawks drafted him in the fifth round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. As a Blackhawk, he went on to win two Stanley Cups, one in 2013 and another in 2015.
On the international stage, Marcus represents Sweden. Moreover, he has quite a few achievements at that level including, the 2013-14 Olympic silver and 2016-17 World Championship gold.
Recently, the former Blackhawk player, John Doe, filed a lawsuit against the NHL franchise for Brad Aldrich’s 2010 sexual assault and the alleged coverup from the club.
Another lawsuit accused the club of giving a recommendation letter to the offender to Miami University and Houghton (Michigan) High School, where he assaulted a 16-year-old boy’s hockey player. At Miami University, Brad sexually assaulted a camp intern/an undergraduate student in 2012 following his resignation from the Blackhawks.
Besides John, none of the victims’ identities got revealed. So, the thoughts are there if Marcus is one of the victims.
Is Marcus Kruger A John Doe?

That’s what everyone wants to know. But again, why the speculations?
Marcus is unlikely to be one of the victims. If we observe Jenner & Block LLP’s independent investigation, we can see that Brad left the club after the 2009-10 season, and the club recalled Marcus, who signed the contract with the Blackhawks in June 2010, from Djurgårdens only on 23 March 2011.
With that, it seems pretty clear that the two probably didn’t even meet each other.
As for the Houghton University one, he isn’t because he was older than 20 years during the incident. That only leaves us with the Miami University one. It also seems unlikely as he won the Stanely cup in the 2012-13 season.
Brad Aldrich Sexual Assault Allegations
Allegations suggest that Brad Aldrich, the former video coach of the Blackhawks, sexually assaulted multiple hockey players during his coaching.
John Doe is one of them, while the others remain unidentified. Brad threatened John and sexually abused him including, oral sex and masturbation at his back. The offender says that the act was consensual, while the latter denies it.
In 2021, Doe filed a lawsuit against the club for covering up the 2010 incident by firing the sex offender.
In addition to that, Aldrich also allegedly assaulted another unnamed 16-year-old high school player and an undergrad. The investigation is ongoing on the matter.
