Was Madeleine McCann Ever Found? Where Is The Suspect Christian Brueckner Now?

British teenager Madeleine Beth McCann disappeared on May 3, 2007, while sleeping in a vacation rental in Praia da Luz, Portugal.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the disappearance was “the most heavily reported missing-person case in modern history.

Madeleine’s disappearance drew sustained international attention and saturation coverage in the UK, eerily similar to Princess Diana’s death in 1997. Her parents faced intense scrutiny and baseless accusations of involvement in their daughter’s death, particularly in the tabloid press and on Twitter.

Was Madeleine McCann Ever Found? What Happened To Her?

Madeleine was never found, and the German prosecutors believe she is dead.

She was on vacation with her parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, her twin brothers, several close family friends, and their children. The parents kept an eye on the kids all evening until Kate noticed Madeleine was missing at 22:00.

Over the next few weeks, particularly after misinterpreting a British DNA analysis, the Portuguese police believed that Madeleine died in an apartment accident and that her parents covered it up.

Madeleine’s parents pursued the case with private investigators until Scotland Yard launched its investigation, Operation Grange, in 2011. According to the senior investigating officer, the disappearance resulted from “a criminal act by a stranger,” most likely an intended kidnapping or burglary gone awry.

Furthermore, in 2013, Scotland Yard released e-fit photos of males they were looking for, one of them was a guy spotted walking toward the beach with a kid the night Madeleine disappeared.

Where Is The Suspect, Christian Brueckner? Update On Disappearance of Madeleine McCann

Christian is incarcerated in Germany for drug-related offenses and a seven-year sentence for raping a 72-year-old woman. Madeleine’s disappearance is still being investigated as a missing person case by the Metropolitan Police Department.

A convicted rapist was named an arguido, or formal suspect, in Faro, Portugal. Since Madeleine’s parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, were declared suspects in the case in 2007, this is the first time Portuguese authorities have officially identified a suspect. They were formally cleared of suspicion in 2008.

Brückner has previously denied involvement in Madeleine’s disappearance, a three-year-old girl.

In June 2020, German police stated that Madeleine was presumed dead and that Brückner was most likely responsible for her disappearance. However, British officers continue to treat the case as one of missing persons. Unlike Portugal, Germany does not have a statute of limitations for murder.

Madeleine McCann Parents And Siblings: Where Are They Today?

Madeleine’s parents and siblings are still in England, fighting for their daughter’s case. They are still traumatized by the events of 15 years ago.

McCain will be 18 years old on May 12, 2021. Her parents commemorated the occasion with a heartfelt message.

Kate and Gerry McCann wrote on their Facebook page Every May is complex – a reminder of years gone by, of years together lost or stolen; this year is especially poignant because we will be celebrating Madeleine’s 18th birthday.

The parents said that while the pandemic had been burdensome, they were thankful that “the investigation to find Madeleine and her abductor has continued.” In 2020, the McCanns said goodbye to a year they don’t want to remember but will find difficult to forget. As a result, it demonstrates that Madeline’s parents overcame numerous challenges to provide justice for their daughter.

Moreover, in another post for Madeleine’s 18th birthday, the parents wrote, “We love you, and we’re waiting for you.”
