What was the first thing in the universe?
The Big Bang is thought to have kick-started the universe about 13.7 billion years ago. At first, the universe was too hot and dense for particles to be stable, but then the first quarks formed, which then grouped together to make protons and neutrons, and eventually the first atoms were created.
What came first matter or light?
Today, astrophysicists say, the answer may be best described through an understanding of the conditions present in the early universe, starting just a fraction of second after the Big Bang. Studies of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB), tell us that light predates matter and even neutral particles themselves.
What existed before light?
Before there were stars, there was matter and radiation. Before there were neutral atoms, there was an ionized plasma, and when that plasma forms neutral atoms, those allow the Universe to deliver the earliest light we see today.
Was there light at the beginning?
Straubinger visits several people who supposedly nourish themselves with “light” and tries to find possible explanations on how inedia might work. Straubinger researched inedia for ten years. This led to the film’s production, which took five years.

Where was light created?
the sun’s center
Photons of light are first created in the sun’s center. Over tens of thousands of years, the photons travel a “drunken walk,” zigzagging their way from atom to atom until they reach the surface.
When did light first enter the universe?
We’re essentially seeing these objects as they were when the light first left them 13.6 billion years ago.
When was light created?
This was the moment of first light in the universe, between 240,000 and 300,000 years after the Big Bang, known as the Era of Recombination. The first time that photons could rest for a second, attached as electrons to atoms.
What are the 4 types of light?
What are the 4 types of lighting?

- Task lighting.
- Accent lighting.
- Decorative lighting.
Where does light come from in the universe?
It comes from giant clouds of dust, cool red stars and even planets. On Earth, it comes from anything that’s warm, including living things, like you! Visible light is a very narrow region of the spectrum. Hot objects like stars emit a lot of visible light.
