Missing: Is Karena Mcclerkin Ever Found?
The family of Karena McClerkin had spent the last five years trying to figure out what might have happened to her on the night of October 11, 2016, when she was last seen at a house in Kokomo, 1000 block of South Washington Street.
The Kokomo Police Department has revealed that a local man had been detained in connection to her incident. According to the department, a 57-year-old man named Flint Vincent Farmer was arrested at his home on one count of murder.
He is currently being prosecuted on a preliminary murder charge, a Level 1 crime. The Howard County Jail is presently holding Farmer without bond; a preliminary hearing has not yet been scheduled.
In the fall of 2021, new information, according to investigators, may have clarified what may have occurred on the day Karena vanished. However, before providing this additional information to the Howard County Prosecutor’s Office for examination, Kokomo police claimed they consulted with the Indiana State Police and other resources.
Police hinted that more arrests in this issue may be forthcoming but would not specify what evidence they had that resulted in Farmer’s arrest.
Is Karena Mcclerkin Dead or Alive?
Even though the police have arrested an alleged culprit, there are no signs of Karena Mcclerkin being alive.
She was a troubled child who had an issue with drugs and alcohol. Moreover, she used to spend time with an older bunch, which was one of the main suspects in her disappearance case. Almost quickly after she was lost, rumors and suspicion started to surface.
Gerry, her grandmother, claims to have heard rumors that Karena had been murdered and her body had been dumped into a body of water to conceal the crime, or that Mcclerkin had been murdered and buried in a tarp in a wooded area.
Her belief that Karena is still alive is shaken as a result of everything. Since there is no concrete information about her being alive, we cannot be 100% sure whether she is still alive or not.
Nonetheless, all we can do is wait and hope for the best for her safety and family.
Karena Mcclerkin: Parents And Family
Out of her family members, Karena Mcclerkin was in the closet with her grandmother, Gerry McClerkin.
Her father, James McClerkin, recalls Karena as a funny little girl who rarely used a filter when expressing her emotions. He claimed she was a brilliant child who had made some poor choices. And those choices caught up with her before she could rebuild her life.
Karena started taking drugs at the age of 15 and battled an addiction to both drugs and alcohol throughout her adolescence. James and Gerry feel that Karena’s way of life might have influenced Karena’s absence.

The lack of interest in Karena’s case received from the media and the authorities has also continued to annoy Karena’s relatives. Her family alleged that Kokomo police did not take her abduction seriously enough and that its investigators did not effectively follow up on several tips and leads presented to them.
But, after locals raised their voices about the incident, it got more media attention, and police have since tried their best to get to the bottom of the problem.
