A middle-aged woman named Rebecca Lanette Taylor was recently arrested for allegedly trying to buy a baby at Walmart.
According to reports, Rebecca offered the woman $500,000 in exchange for her one-year-old son.

The incident took place on January 13 in a Walmart in Crockett, roughly 120 miles to the north of Houston.
Police said Taylor allegedly reached a woman who had one of her babies in a car seat and another one-year-old son in a shopping cart at the self-service checkout.
Rebecca then talked about the toddler’s beautiful blonde hair and blue eyes. she then asked the woman “for how much she could purchase him.” according to the probable cause affidavit.
After hearing Taylor’s comments, the one-year-old’s mom first tried to laugh her comment off as she thought Taylor was casually joking.
However, the situation immediately escalated after Taylor told the woman that she had half of the cash in the car and would pay that much for him.
Texas Woman Rebecca Lanette Taylor Arrested & Charges
As per jail records, Texas Woman Rebecca Lanette got charged with buying or selling a child, a third-degree felony.
Rebecca Lanette Taylor was taken into custody on Tuesday. Previously, after the toddler’s mother reported the incident to the police, an officer went to Taylor’s house to question her about it.
According to the officer who wrote the affidavit, Rebecca responded harshly, telling him that she does not like thieves and that she could speak with her attorney and get everything taken care of.
As of now, Jail records indicate that she had bonded out of Houston County Jail. But, It is unclear whether she had hired an attorney or not.
Taylor faces a minimum of two years in prison and a maximum of about ten years if she is convicted. She could also face a $10,000 fine.
