Brycheln Haughey is registered as a special education and preschool paraprofessional on South Tama County Elementary School website. However, she resigned from the position in the school on December 15.
She was a resident in the Tama County town, Toledo, and worked as a paraeducator for the district. She resigned from her position on September 23, and the school district soon began its investigation.

Haughey asked the student how old he was and if he is a senior. He stated his age was 17 and said that he is a junior. Soon after, he began receiving flirtatious texts from the coach, and the student got invited to her house on September 25, 2020.
