After completing his major junior career, Vince Dunn began his professional hockey career with the Chicago Wolves, the St. Louis Blues’ American Hockey League (AHL) club.
In a match he played against the Grand Rapids Griffins in October 2016, he scored his first goal as a professional. Even though he was the team’s youngest member and only 20 years old at the time, he still managed to lead the Wolves’ defense in scoring with 45 points in 72 games.
Dunn was chosen for the Blues’ 2017–18 season opening night squad the following year. On October 4, 2017, he participated in his debut NHL game against the Blues’ 5-4 overtime victory over the reigning Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins.
He scored his first NHL goal in a match against the Florida Panthers eight days later. He shared ice time on the third pairing with Robert Bortuzzo and participated in the second power-play unit while playing an average of 16:14 per game.
