On November 2, 2011, Bout was convicted by a jury in a Manhattan federal court of conspiracy to kill Americans, acquire and export anti-aircraft missiles, and provide material support to a terrorist organization, and was sentenced to 25 years imprisonment.
In 2019, Alla and her daughter Elizaveta saw her husband Viktor Bout for the first time in seven years following his conviction in 2012. To continue visiting her husband behind bars, Alla decided to remain in the United States for a couple of weeks. But left the U.S and now reside in Moscow, Russia.
