Vern Glenn KRON 4
Glen joined KRON 4 News in San Francisco in January 1990 as a sports reporter, weekend sports anchor, and multi-media journalist. Both KPIX and KRON had an interest in Glenn, but when the Loma Prieta earthquake hit in October of 1989, interest died down for a few months. Around his birthday in January, he flew out for an interview at KRON.
Sports anchor Gary Radnich, who has been with KRON 4 for over 30 years and has also hosted a sports radio talk show on KNBR since 1992, jumped on the line and asked if Glenn could come over to the station immediately.
During the boom years, Glenn had the opportunity to work Super Bowls, the World Series, NBA All-Star Weekend, and the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney.
It was also during his KRON days where he picked up the moniker “Mr. Involvement”, a popular segment where he would literally throw himself into the story.
“(Radnich) would say ‘he’s involved’ whenever I was out in the field. ‘He’s Mr. Involvement,’ just a few months in at KRON and it stuck,” Glenn said. Glenn spent 23 years with KRON 4 News.
