Vermithor vs Vhagar: Size Comparison, Strength, Dragon Riders and Power

Based on size and experience, Vhagar is bigger and reportedly stronger than Vermithor.

The Dance of the Dragons, the Targaryen civil war that crippled House Targaryen and brought about the extinction of the dragons, is about to start in House of the Dragons.

Vhagar, who is older than Vermithor and is reported to be the only dragon that came close to Balerion the Dark Dread’s size, is a little bit bigger than Vermithor.

Vermithor isn’t significantly smaller than Vhagar, though. Additionally, Vhagar is stronger than Vermithor because she has fought in more conflicts and battles than him.

Vermithor vs Vhagar: Everything About Them

Breeding dragons and using them to conquer all of Westeros, and now that the new television series House of the Dragon has begun airing, people are once again interested in their primary means of destroying dragons.

As Game of Thrones followed Daenerys Targaryen and her three dragons Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viserion, we learned a lot about dragons.

In the future Targaryen civil war, known as the Dance of the Dragons, a variety of dragons that are featured in the House of the Dragon trilogy will take the prominent stage.

As a result, we can anticipate a large number of dragons engaging in several conflicts. Vermithor is one such dragon that will undoubtedly be featured in the Dance of the Dragons.

Because of its size and ferocity, Vermithor was one of the most fabled dragons of his era.

Vermithor Vs Vhagar: Who Is Bigger And Stronger?

After Balerion’s passing and throughout the Dance of the Dragons, it was always emphasized that Vhagar was the biggest dragon in the entire universe.

In spite of the fact that there wasn’t much of a size difference between the two, this indicates that Vhagar is larger than Vermithor.

Vermithor, on the other hand, was claimed to be smaller than only Balerion and Vhagar, making him the third-largest dragon in Westeros history.

Due to her larger size, Vhagar was probably stronger than Vermithor in terms of strength. Throughout her whole life, Vhagar fought in innumerable battles, whereas Vermithor only experienced real combat during Jaehaerys’s uprising and the Dance of the Dragons.

Vermithor was already bigger than all the other dragons, expect for Balerion and Vhagar, in his early life; therefore there is a fair likelihood that, had he lived longer, he would have grown bigger than Vhagar and perhaps even as huge as Balerion.

He was almost as enormous as the Queen of All Dragons at the time of his demise, although being almost 100 years younger than Vhagar.

Vermithor History And Size Explained

Vermithor was likely Jaehaerys Targaryen’s cradle-side friend because they were born at roughly the same time during the early Targaryen dynasty in Westeros.

As a result, when the Targaryen prince was young, this dragon and he quickly formed a bond. And as Vermithor grew older during the early Targaryen reign, he became bigger than practically all of the other dragons, including some of the older ones.

Vermithor was already a substantial dragon in that sense when Jaehaerys led a revolt against King Maegor the Cruel in 48 AC.

Vermithor was reputed to have been the third-largest dragon in the world at the time, which indicates exactly how enormous he was in his infancy.

Of course, since dragons never cease growing, Vermithor had only gotten bigger by the time of the Dance of the Dragons.

Vhagar History And Size Explained

When Aegon the Conqueror overthrew the Seven Kingdoms, he brought three dragons with him, including Vhagar. During Aegon’s Conquest, Queen Visenya Targaryen rode Vhagar.

Vhagar, the smallest of the three dragons who overran Westeros and was born roughly 50 years before Aegon’s Conquest, was nonetheless large enough to terrorize various armies across the continent.

Vhagar was a veteran of numerous wars throughout her entire life, especially since Visenya frequently rode her in battle. Because of this, Vhagar was an experienced dragon by the time Aegon’s Conquest was over.

Moreover, when she grew older, the dragon’s size increased further. Due to the passing of Meraxes, Vhagar rose to the position of the second-largest dragon in the world.

Vermithor’s Power

Vermithor was a very strong dragon during the Dance of the Dragons, and because of its enormous size and power, it was responsible for many fatalities.

The dragon, however, went on the rampage after Hugh Hammer was murdered and numerous knights attempted to kill Vermithor. When Tessarion and Seasmoke engaged in combat with Vermithor, both dragons perished.

However, before Vermithor passed away, he showed off its formidable might by tearing Seasmoke’s head from its neck. Vermithor perished when he attempted to fly but hit the ground after his ragged wings could not hold his weight.

Vermithor was the second-largest dragon competing in the Dance of the Dragons at the time of his demise. He passed away when he was around 100 years old.

How Big Was Vermithor? Compared To Other Dragons In A Song of Ice And Fire

Vermithor, also known as the Bronze Fury, was a huge dragon that not many other dragons could contend with.

Vermithor is one of the many different dragons to watch out for in the Targaryen civil war because it is second only to Vhagar in size.

Given that many of the other living dragons in the series are already enormous in and of themselves, it’s also fascinating to observe how big it is in comparison to the other dragons.

Vermithor’s Size Compared To The Other Dragons

To understand just how big Vermithor is, let’s compare him to the other dragons in House of the Dragons.

Balerion

Balerion continues to be the largest dragon to have ever inhabited Westeros in terms of size. This is due to the fact that the Dark Dread is still the biggest and most powerful dragon to have ever existed.

There is a solid reason why Game of Thrones fans still speaks highly of this enormous dragon. Vermithor is smaller than the Dark Dread since no dragon has ever existed that was larger than Balerion.

Vhagar

Vhagar, who lived a very long time and was about 200 years old when she passed away, was the dragon closest in size to Balerion.

She was initially the smallest of the three dragons that Aegon the Conqueror brought to Westeros during his conquest, yet she managed to outlast Meraxes and rise to become second only to Balerion.

During the Dance of the Dragons, Vhagar was the only dragon larger than Vermithor.

Drogon

Due to his rapid growth, Drogon was formerly thought to be the reincarnation of Balerion and is still one of the largest dragons in Westeros history.

But Drogon is smaller than Vhagar, and Vhagar is just somewhat larger than Vermithor. Vermithor is still larger than Drogon as a result.

However, given that Vermithor was rumored to be the reincarnation of the largest dragon of all time, an older Drogon might end up growing to be bigger than Vermithor ever was.

Caraxes

Caraxes the Blood Wyrm has one of the leanest frames of any dragon because it lacks the bulk that some other dragons do. Caraxes, however, is unusual in that it is quite long since its head is much longer than ordinary dragons.

Caraxes is fairly long and massive, yet it is still smaller than Vermithor, who is almost as large as Vhagar. According to the text, Vhagar is roughly twice as large as Caraxes.

Meleys

Meleys was the dragon that Princess Rhaenys released in House of the Dragon episode 9 and nearly killed the Greens while fleeing King’s Landing.

Meleys was a dragon that was enormous enough to consume an entire human being whole because its head was the same length as the ordinary person. Meleys is still smaller than some of the larger dragons, such as Vermithor and Vhagar, in actuality.
