Varsity High School football video game is built by the team behind Maximum Football. The private beta test will drop in late 2023.
The upcoming video game was built in collaboration with Sports Video Game Publisher and Developer Spear Interactive and Pyramid Lake Games headed by President Joshua Garity.
The game went into development in February 2022. It will be the first high school football video game in existence. They have partnered with Xenith to include their helmets in Varisty.
Inspired by the shows QB1 and Friday Night Lights, the gaming creators hope to create a craft with high school experiences on and off the field. Though there will be some similarities between Madden and EA Sports NCAA football series, Varisty aims to provide high school-specific aspects to zoom in on.
The new football video game will be a customizable football world that will differ based on the county and state your team plays in.
The user will need to get used to managing the team’s expectations by interacting with parents and players, coaching staff, other teams, and 7 on 7 teams.

Varsity Football Video Game
Varsity football video game will release on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
The team purchased the Xsens MVN Link option capture suit in 2022 to capture their own football animations. With it, they planned on providing a cutting-edge physics-based animation system.
All schools are fictional but every state and any town with over 1,000 population will be there for your choosing. Players can start a new Dynasty, create their coach, and navigate to a map of the US to view open jobs.
After gauging the team information, you are all set to accept the job and begin off-season in the winter.
Like the NCCA series, the game starts by selecting your coach followed by your school/team for your first job. You start in the offseason and go through managing the team. Weight training, spring training, and spring games must be defined among others.
A big difference from NCAA games is handling off-field situations. Not only will you have to deal with parents and their hopes that their son have more playing time but you will equally need to manage boosters wanting to give your program money with expectations attached.
The decision you make off the field with how to manage things will have a direct impact on the team, players, school budgets, job security, booster support, community turn out and games result.
When starting a dynasty for a particular state, you have the control to decide how many teams make it to the playoffs.
Helmets are customizable and include options for matte, metallic, colors, and logo placements. Facemask, chinstrap, and visor colors can also be adjusted to your liking.
The team behind the varsity FB game has been designing the UI with colorblindness in mind to provide maximum accessibility.

EA Sports High School Football
EA Sports high school football video game can be made by reusing features from NCAA 14 Dynasty mode.
Features that it can reuse to quickly bring a new high school football video game are:
- UI/UX Framework
- Gameplay engine
- Dynasty mode
- Career mode
- Online team creation and sharing
- Custom playbooks
- Roster editing
- Generate names feature
- Custom conferences
If EA Sports chooses to do so, it can get the game out in less than three years, the average time it takes to create a video game. It certainly has the database and the means to do so.
The game should focus on customization as fans will be hooked if they could create the team they desire. The only reason NCAA 14 has not died not in the past years is the team-building feature.
A high school football video game was only a dream for many but it may soon be a reality with Varsity pushing to release the game within the next year after receiving updates from users at the end of 2023.
