Vanessa Laine Bryant was born Vanessa Cornejo in Urbieta in Los Angeles, California, United States on May 5, 1982. She was born to Mexican parents. However, when she was three years old, her parents divorced sometime in 1985 and her father moved on. No information is available about her birth father and she has rarely mentioned him since.
Her mother Sofia Urbieta raised Vanessa and her older sister Sophie is all alone and mostly works multiple jobs just to put food on the table for her family. Sometime in 1990, Vanessa’s mother married her boyfriend Stephen Laine; She and her daughters then moved in with him.
