Valerie Bertinelli Is Missing From Hollywood Industry – Where Is She Now?

Valeire Bertinelli was born on April 23, 1960 at Wilmington, Delaware, where she spent her early childhood. Born to mother Nancy and Father Andrew Bertinelli, she is part Italian from her father’s side and part English from her mother’s side. Interestingly, Bertinelli is a descendant of King Edward 1st of England from her mother’s side. 

Her father was an executive at General Motors. Bertinelli has three brothers David, Patrick, and Drew.  Her parents also had another child named Mark but he died at only 17 months before she was born due to accidental poisoning.

Nature of her father’s job made her family move frequently from one place to another and due to this she and her family relocated to many different places. Over the period of time, they resided in Claymont, Delaware; Clarkston, Michigan; Shreveport, Louisiana; Oklahoma, and Los Feliz in LA, California. 

She was raised as a Roman Catholic by her parents. 

For her early education, Valeire Bertinelli attended Clarkston middle school in Delaware, where she was born. Later Bertinelli studied acting at Tami Lynn school of artists when she moved to Los Angeles, California. Also, she did her formal schooling from the Granada Hills High School in Granada hills, LA, California.

Back in 1974, an American TV drama used to air in CBS called Apple’s way, which proved to be a blessing for Bertinelli’s career. The show aired for just two seasons from 1974 – 1975. Valeire Bertinelli got an opportunity to appear in an episode for the show back in the day. But that single episode appearance was about to change the life of young Valeire Bertinelli.

Right after her appreapnce in the show, a producer named Norman Lear approached Valeire Bertinelli with a prospect of playing the role of Barbara Cooper in the new sitcom that was going to air named One day at a time. 

Hence, Valeire Bertinelli took the role of Barbara Cooper and the show aired when Valeire was just 15. Valeire Bertinelli gained much appreciation and fame for the role she played within the TV show. For her role of Brabara Cooper, she was also awarded with two Golden Globe Awards. She appeared in all but one episode of the sitcom throughout its entire run. She was one of the if not the main character in the show. 

After getting recognition from the sitcom, she continued to work on many different shows as well as TV movies. Also, she stared to appear in many different shows as herself. Apart from appearing in different shows and movies, Valerie Bertinelli also started to host different television shows and programs.

She has hosted multiple TV shows on cooking and she most recently until 2019 was involved in TV shows based on cooking as a host.

When it comes to Love life, Bertinelli is remembered as the former wife of Eddie Van Halen. The were together for 26 years i.e., from 1981 until 2007, when they separated and divorced. 

Bertinelli pointed to Van Halen’s refusal to stop smoking even after it was hurting his health was the reason for their separation. They both share a child named Wolfgang Van Halen, born on march 16, 1991. 

Bertinelli wanted to name her child in an extravagant manner rather than just giving him a simple Americanized name. Hence, the name Wolfgang.

After separating with Eddie Van Halen, Valeire Bertinelli got together with financial planner Tom Vitale. They tied the knot on January 1, 2011. She became the stepmother to his four children. Together they had no children. 

Van Halen died in 2020 due to Cancer and it was reported that both Valeire and Tom were with him in his last moments. Valeire and Tom were together until their divorce recently. After the divorce, Valeire Bertinelli was reported saying that she is happy and content to live the rest of her life alone and look for no more love, after her messy and trying divorce.     

Valeire Bertinelli recently in a podcast Literally! with Rob Lowe, confessed that she was quite addicted to drugs back in the days. She opened up about her life during her time with the rockstar Van Halen. 

She said, back in the days, the cocaine was everywhere and very easy to find and both her and her partner would use it often. Along with her, the host of the show opened up that he himself had a history of substance abuse. 

However, in the end what we can say is that both of these personalities have long hopped off the train when it comes to drugs and addiction. 

Bertinelli even actively participates in anti-drug campaigns as well as she took part in and completed the Boston marathon which helped benefit the cancer institute. So, we can say that even if she had addicted past, she is now actively participating in anti-drug campaigns and promoting healthy living.

It has been noted that Valeire Bertinelli has been absent from her cooking shows or just from Hollywood projects generally in recent times. 

Many people have wondered what is going on with Bertinelli. What we have found out is that Bertinelli since the death of her former husband Eddie Van Halen has been grief stricken and grief-shaming as well as struggling over the loss of her love who she met when she was just 20 back in the day. She was reported to say that she still loved him. 

Also, she was in the middle of a messy divorce row with her now ex second husband. Due to all these matters, she was troubled and understandably disturbed, which aided on her absence from Hollywood projects. 

However, her fans and well wishers need not worry as she is slated to return for the show called “Hungry”, which she is the lead of. Also, we can expect to see her in future cooking shows and the Kids baking championship. 

It’s reported that Valeire Bertinelli’s net worth is somewhere in the region of $20 million.
