Update: What Happened To Kyron Horman? Was The Second-Grader Missing Boy Ever Found?

Horman’s abduction spurred Oregon’s largest-ever criminal probe.

What Happened To Kyron Horman?

Terri Horman (Moulton), Kyron’s stepmother, drove him to Skyline Elementary School on June 4, 2010, and stayed with him as he attended a science fair.

Terri Horman said she left around 8:45 a.m. and last saw Kyron heading down the hall to his first class.

On the other hand, Kyron was never seen at his first class and was declared absent that day.

Terri and her husband, Kaine, walked to the bus stop with their daughter, Kiara, at 3:30 p.m. to meet Kyron. The bus driver informed them that the youngster had failed to board the bus and that they should contact the school to inquire about his whereabouts.

Terri did so, only to be informed by the school secretary that Kyron had not been at school since early that day, as far as anyone knew, and had so been recorded absent. When the secretary realized the youngster was missing, she dialed 9-1-1.

Where Are The Parents Of Missing Child?

Kyron Richard Horman was born in Portland, Oregon, on September 9, 2002, to Desiree Young and Kaine Horman, an Intel engineer.

Young filed for divorce eight months into her pregnancy with Kyron, citing irreconcilable differences. Until 2004, the two had shared custody of Kyron, but after Young was diagnosed with renal failure that necessitated substantial medical care, Kaine took full charge; despite this, Young remained an active part of Kyron’s upbringing.

Terri Moulton, a substitute teacher from Roseburg, married Kaine in 2007. When Kaine and Young were divorcing, he began romantically involved with Moulton in 2001.

They married in 2007 on the Hawaiian island of Kauai.

Kaine filed for divorce and got a restraining order against Terri on June 28, 2010. Terri was awarded supervised visitation with her daughter once the divorce was finalized.

Desiree and Kaine Horman have never given up attempting to find answers from Terri, but nothing has been discovered so far.

Was The Second-Grader Missing Boy Ever Found?

Kyron has been missing for 11 years, 11 months, and ten days, and there are no answers till now.

Desiree Young filed a civil action against Terri on June 1, 2012, alleging that she was “responsible for Kyron’s disappearance.” According to the lawsuit, Terri was accused of kidnapping Kyron on the day he vanished. Young demanded a monetary settlement of $10 million.

Terri’s plea to delay the lawsuit was denied by a federal court judge on August 15, 2012. In a separate hearing that same year, Kaine testified that police told him they “had more probable reason to believe Terri Horman was involved in Kyron’s disappearance than they did two years earlier.”

Young abandoned the lawsuit against Terri on July 30, 2013, to avoid interfering with the pending police investigation.

Rebecca Morris’ book Boy Missing: The Search for Kyron Horman was published in May 2020. According to the book, on June 4, 2010, Kyron’s usual bus driver, a classmate, and two of the classmate’s family members saw Kyron go across the school parking lot with Terri and her infant daughter.
