Early Life, Education, and Soccer Beginnings
While Servando was born in the US, he spent most of his youth in Tijuana, Mexico which was his parents’ hometown. He later moved back to California and attended St. Augustine High School. During this period, he developed a lot of skill and experience playing soccer, as he was actively involved in the sport as a child.
He played for the school’s soccer team and later joined the San Diego Soccer Club as his family settled in the area.
The club is one of the most competitive in the state, and participated in many youth tournaments. During this time, he earned several accolades including the San Diego Union-Tribute All-County Player of the Year. He began taking his aspirations in soccer seriously as he participated in the Olympic Development Program, as well as the Premier Development Program, both helping him to launch his career in professional soccer.
Further Studies and College Soccer
After matriculating from high school, Carrasco was offered an athletic scholarship at the University of California, Berkley which he accepted.
The university is part of the large University of California system, and is the oldest among all of them, considered its flagship despite other popular campuses. Berkeley saw the development of many things including the Manhattan (atom bomb) project by Berkeley scientist JR Oppenheimer. He quickly began playing on the regular roster of the university, and became one of the team’s consistent scorers and assist men. During his sophomore year, he was named to the All-Pac-10 second team, starting for most of the year, recording seven assists in the season and further improving his game.
However, during his third year he suffered an ankle injury that left him out of game for most of the season. Despite that, he still showed enough skill to be named in the All-Pac-10 second-team once more. During his senior year, he became the co-captain of the school’s squad, and finally made it to the First Team All-Pac-10. He was also named to the NSCAA Third Team Far West Region. He completed his college career with 13 goals in four years.

During the draft, he was selected by the Seattle Sounders FC during the seventh round, making him the 27th overall pick. He appeared in his debut game a few weeks later against the New York Red Bulls, but hHe wasn’t used often during his time in Seattle, and only scored his first goal two years later in a match against the Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
Afterwards, he was traded to the Houston Dynamo, and then to Sporting Kansas City. This wasn’t the last trade involving him, as he was then moved to Orlando City SC – he was traded often as his contract was expiring. During his time in Orlando, he scored his second career goal, but the team opted not to re-sign him after his contract expired. He wasn’t done as he joined the 2017 MLS Re-Entry Draft, and was selected by the LA Galaxy; he’s been playing for the club since 2018.

She then made history as she scored 20 goals and 20 assists in one year, making her the youngest player to achieve the feat and only the sixth woman to do so. She continued to play for the US team in subsequent tournaments, helping them win both the 2015 and the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cups.
She also joined Portland Thorns FC during the inaugural season of the National Women’s Soccer League, contributing to the team’s championship win that year. She has also won the continental European treble during this time, playing with the French team, Lyon.
