Is Latif Williams Arrested?
Latif Williams turned himself in on Wednesday after an arrest warrant for murder was issued.
The 17-year-old was greeted by relatives and friends who embraced him for a long time before escorting him to police headquarters, where he was sought for murder.
Investigators claimed they utilized video and forensic evidence recovered at the site and law enforcement sources to connect Williams to the homicide.
According to the inquirer, Williams was arrested on August 14 and accused of aggravated assault, robbery, and other offenses. His bond was set at $200,000 at first, and he was imprisoned.
At a court hearing less than a week later, Municipal Court Judge Joffie C. Pittman III granted Williams’ release on an unsecured bond, which meant he would only have to pay money if he broke the terms of his release. Pittman ordered him to be placed under home arrest.
However, the case was abandoned when the victim failed to appear for a pre-trial hearing.
