In 2010, Hernandez faced Michael Green Jr. in Ring of Fire 1, making his amateur debut. He won by unanimous judgment in the match. This victory would mark the start of an eight-fight winning streak.
In 2018’s LFA 32, Hernandez faced off against Brendan Allen for the middleweight championship of the organization. Hernandez received a unanimous victory.
On February 2, 2019, Hernandez competed in his first UFC fight against Markus Perez at UFC Fight Night: Assunço vs. Moraes 2. He was defeated in the second round by an anaconda choke.
