Trevor Reed is not on Wikipedia. He is a former US Marine who was convicted of assaulting two Russian police officers.
Trevor R. Reed, a US Marine, became well-known after his detention in Russia for allegedly assaulting a Russian police officer.
His detention has been criticized as being driven by Russian authorities’ political goals. His case is linked to fellow former US marine Paul Whelan, who was also arrested and sentenced.
On July 30, 2020, Reed was sentenced to nine years in a Russian prison.
However, he denied endangering the lives of two police officers who were transporting him to a police station after detaining him after he attended a party in Moscow.
Trevor claims he has no recollection of the incident because he was drunk at the time.
Reed is accused of grabbing the officer driving the police car, causing him to swerve dangerously, and elbowing another officer who tried to intervene.
