Trevon Duval Bio
Born Trevon Tyler Duval on August 3, 1998 in New Castle, Delaware, the point guard is the eldest of Trevor Duval Snr. and Chaka Campbell’s four children. His father’s family is from Trinidad and his mother grew up in Jamaica. While she was in elementary school, her family moved to New York, where she later met her husband.
Trevon, who was previously involved with basketball, said his first words as a child. As a baby, his father slipped a Nerf basketball into his crib, and by the time he was two, he was playing in a YMCA league. Back at home in their old apartment, his father would drill him on their Little Tikes tire, and together they watched the old 1989 Michael Jordan documentary. Come fly with me on VHS. They also watched AND1 mixtapes and studied streetball legends.
Trevor Snr., who has been described as a basketball junkie, always taught his young son to be a fun player – which he says means “creative from the ground up”. As Trevon grew older, so did his father’s desire to make him the best basketball player. He continued to urge Trevor to disapprove of other parents as well as his AAU coach who felt the father was pushing the son too much. However, the trainer soon discovered that Trevon’s father was not insane, but that both father and son were driven towards the same goal.
According to his mother, she knew Trevon would become an entertainer even before he was born. When she was pregnant with him, she met a Jamaican man who touched her tummy and told her that she would have a little boy who would grow up to be some kind of entertainer. Probably because he believed in the “prophecy,” Trevor’s father decided to get him to steer this innate entertaining ability towards basketball.
During his high school years, Trevor did his freshman and freshman years at Saint Benedict’s Preparatory School in Newark, New Jersey. He later transferred to Advanced Preparatory International in Dallas, Texas in September 2015 for his junior season. He competed in the Under Armor Association track competition for AAU team WE-R1 in the spring and summer of 2016 and led the WE-R1 to the championship. Because of his excellent results, he became the first player to win the Under Armor and the Nike Peach Jam championships. This earned him an invitation to play in the Under Armor Elite 24 in Brooklyn, New York. At the end of 2016, the talented basketball player moved to the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
