Treefort Music Fest 2023 Lineup, Schedule And Location

Treefort Music Fest for the 2023 edition has been all set to go. This year’s lineup, schedule and location have already appeared like a most awaited rainbow.

Treefort Music Fest, in its five-day alchemy and culmination, brings over 25,000 lovers of music, arts and other live events; they have been celebrated as life events by the past festival goers and without a doubt it is expected this year too.

When the festival posters are released, finding a library of artists that will be performing at the festival, many just want to schedule and pack a back for downtown Boise, Idaho, which hosts the event every year.

This year, the Main Stage and other venues have been shifted; it’s getting bigger and more popular and now there’s more grass to dance on!

It had started out as a local event to showcase the local indie artists but over the years it has turned into a cultural and artistic community event, getting dynamic each year and the organizers have been adding new dimensions through diverse genre inclusion.

Not only musicians, but talents have found the platform and voice, while the attendees enjoy the 5 days to the fullest.

Where Is Treefort Music Fest?

Treefort Music Fest is held at different sites throughout Julia Davis Park in downtown Boise, Idaho. The events will be hosted in two separate zones.

With its growing popularity and its entry into the second decade, the festival has added new venues to accommodate the audience and make their experience livelier in the open space. Besides new stages and venues, this year festival-owned Treefort Music Hall will make its debut.

Other than two zones and forts at Julia Davis Park, there are other indoor venues too like clubs and bars, all within close vicinity of the main stage.

As if hosting a mini festival itself, other than the main stage, there are 13 in total Forts this year, where other genres of arts, entertainment and culture are celebrated with the active participation of the festival goers.

Filmfort for emerging independent cinema; Foodfort for the celebration of the food and food systems local to the area and beyond; Hackfort for celebrating the tech in our lives; Music Talks to discuss the future of music and career in music; Skatefort celebrating skateboarding, roller skating and music; Yogafort brings yoga and movement classes accompanied by live music for intimate Yoga experience and Storyfort celebrates storytelling, narratives, writing and authors.

There are other riches: Podfort hosts engaging podcasts in different niches; Kidfort organizes events for the young and kids; Alefort is all about the craft beverage and taste of food especially of the local cuisine; Dragfort as the organizers call it, is the “the queer dream destination of Treefort,” celebrate LGBTQIA+ community and our unique selves; Comedyfort for the laughs and chuckles, and finally the Artfort, which brings together and give space to the fine arts, performance art and much more.

How To Go Treefort Music Fest?

This year’s Treefort Music Fest happening within Julia Davis park will have two zones: the free Fort Zone and the Wristband Zone for pass holders.

If you are in Boise, all festival venues are close by and can be reached on a bike or on foot. The Treeline bus service – Valley Regional Transit is Boise’s local bus system – operates a festival route during that time. One can catch the bus throughout the festival days, and it’s free for all. This bus will stop at five different locations, moving in a circuit, and the Museum bus stop is the closest to Julia Davis’s Park’s main entrance.

As seen on the colorful map a few scrolls above, the Fort Zone in the West half of the park will be free and open to the public. Many forts and activities are encompassed in this zone. On the other hand, the Wristband Zone located between the Fort Zone and the Zoo will require passes for entry.

The Main Stage and Hideout Stage can be found in this zone. Julia Davis Park will welcome all the attendees at the main entrance facing Capitol Boulevard; getting out of the Treeline, you’ll immediately catch up with the crowd at the entrance.

The festival organizers encourage the visitors to walk, bike, or use free bus services to reach Julia Davis Park. It won’t be a hassle if you still want to take your car; pre-booked and paid parking is available.

Some of the headliner artists are

  • The Plagiarists
  • We Were Giants
  • Mylo Bybee
  • David Henry Band
  • Ryan Duley
  • Black Bolt
  • Smokey Brights
  • Cory Hanson
  • Surf Curse

Many indie and emerging artists represent different genres and communities, making it one of the musical events bringing together diversified artists and audiences.

Treefort festival director, Eric Gilbert, has confirmed that he is very excited to introduce a wave of new artists to the public this year.

Especially when the Covid restrictions have relatively been easy this year, more crowd participation has been expected. The five-day event will especially be held at Julia Davis Park, but performances will be dotted throughout downtown Boise.

Treefort has been predominantly known as the ultimate festival for indie rock artists and musicians. As the festival has entered its second decade, they have become stronger concerning creativity and inclusion.

The festival is also a great networking and publicizing opportunity for the musicians – mostly working just below the mainstream – as they bring out their new originals in the festival as well to get the first raw experience of how the audience reacts to their music.

You can browse through their Festival Lineup of singers and artists from their website as well, with rich details for all performing artists.
