Travis Mcmichael – Ahmaud Arbery Cross-Examination
On 18 November, the lead prosecutor Linda Dunikoski cross-examines Travis Mcmichael over the February 2020 killing of Ahmaud Arbery while he testifies in his defense.
The prosecution rested its case on Tuesday, but the defendant said, the following day, that he wanted to share his side of the story.
Prosecutor to Travis McMichael: So you thought Ahmaud Arbery would want to have a conversation with you after he ran away from you for five minutes, you chased him with a shotgun, and your father yelled at him “Stop, or I’ll blow your fucking head off”? pic.twitter.com/PcI2HicQUh

The cross-examination leads to the discovery of two new details in this case. Travis said that Arbery briefly stopped running during the chase but continued after Travis told him the police were coming.
Dunikiski questioned details about the chase. She reviewed the statements that Travis and his father, Gregory, had made on the hunt that they began after spotting the victim at an under-construction house nearby.
In June, a grand jury indicted the defendants, Gregory McMichael, Travis McMichael, and William Bryan, on nine criminal counts including, felony murder, aggravated assault, and false imprisonment.
