Marvel Cinematic Universe is the biggest name in the cinematic universe. It has given a ton of great characters, some are incredibly loved, like iron man, while others are hated, like Malekith.
Nowadays almost everyone is a Marvel fan, it has introduced many characters, villains, and side characters.
Whiplash
Ivan Vanko, or Whiplash, made his debut in the film Iron Man 2 as the antagonist. The character’s hatred for the Stark family arose because of the action of Tony’s father, which caused Ivan’s father to die penniless in Russia.
Ivan recreates an Arc Reactor and designs armor to attack Tony Stark. At the end of Iron Man 2, he refuses to relent and blows himself up to avoid going to jail for the crimes he committed.
Star-Lord
Before Avengers-Infinity War, the star-lord was a loved character from Guardians of the Galaxy but that all changed when he ruined the team’s plan to remove the Infinity Gauntlet from Thanos’s hand, this action led to the iconic “Snap” that erased half of the universe’s population. This action caused fans to hate Star-lord and is the reason for the loss of Avengers in Infinity War.
The leader of the Guardians of The Galaxy failed to contain his emotion after learning the fact that Thanos sacrificed Gamora for his insane quest to wipe out half of the universe causing the Avengers and the guardians to retrieve the Gauntlet from Thanos’s hand.
Hawkeye
Hawkeye does not have any powers like other superheroes, his only defining trait is his talent, bow, and arrow. The reason he is hated is that his decision always led to more difficulty for team members around him.
Another reason why Hawkey was disliked was he took on the Ronin personality and seeks out to try and even the score by finding and killing murderous criminals, after the event of the Avengers: Endgame.
Captain Marvel
Captain Marvel barely shows any weakness, this might be because of the military training that she went through, she literally destroys everyone in her way. Fans find her to be arrogant, cold, and overconfident and she thinks that the Avengers lost because of her absence in the war.
According to comic books, Captain Marvel is supposed to be one of the most dynamic and powerful heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but critiques arise because non of her abilities and power were achieved through hardship, and the way the character was portrayed, seemed as if she was born to be destined to get those power.
Ultron
Ultron was made worthy of a villain for the second installment of the Avengers movie, some fans did not like the idea that the creation of Ultron was credited to Tony Stark and Bruce Banner instead of Hank Pym, who created Ultron, as explained in comic.
Ultron’s perspective is that machine life is superior compared to organic life, and is frustrated that Tony, his creator does not agree with his perspective. Because of this very reason, fans felt more sympathetic toward Ultron than intimidating.
Flash Thompson
Flash Thompson is a spoiled rich kid who is bully to Peter Parker in the movie franchise Spider-Man. Although the comic version of flash grows to become one of the avengers after being bonded with the alien symbiote.
Although flash idolizes Spider-Man and even starts a Spider-Man fan club, but never misses a chance to bully Peter Parker.
Quicksilver
Quicksilver was introduced in Avengers: Age of Ultron as the villain of the Avengers, later he joined forces with the Avengers to defeat Ultron. He had the shortest screenplay as Earth’s hero, as sacrifices himself to save Hawkeye and a child.
Although, he sacrificed himself at the end of the movie Avengers: Age of Ultron, fans did not like the fact that the memorable character from the X-Men films was gone.
Pepper Pots
Pepper Pots was introduced in Marvel Cinematic Universe from the very beginning, she first appeared in Iron Man as secretary to Tony Stark. It’s not very clear why fans did not take this character as welcoming and lovable as Tony.
The reason for Pepper not to be liked could be the way she was portrayed as the nagging female partner to a hero like Iron Man. Eventually, fans liked the dynamic chemistry between Tony and Pepper.
Hank Pym
Hank Pym in Marvel Cinematic Universe is much less profile compared to his role in comic; where he is a founding member of the earth’s mightiest heroes Avengers. In Marvel Cinematic Universe he is the former ant-man, who designs the technology that Scott Lang uses to fight crime.
Although he is a great scientist, fans dislike him because he is always a jerk to Scott Lang. The fans dislike him for the fact that he is cranky and always seems unwilling to let anyone else explore the scientific breakthrough he’s made.
Malekith
Malekith was the antagonist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise Thor, he was introduced as an antagonist with the motivation to destroy the whole world in the second installment of the movie Thor: The Dark World. As Malekith wanted to destroy the whole world with the help of one of the infinity stones- The Reality Stone, no matter who portrayed the character, he stood no chance of being a good villain.
As he wanted to destroy the world, the fans did not root for him, but instead, fans hated him for how poorly he was portrayed as a character rather than hating him for his actions of destroying the world. As a villain the character failed to present an understandable that fans could sympathize with, he failed to put pressure on the heroes as other villains did.
