Tony Niemistö (born 10 February 1963 in Danderyd, Stockholm County) is a semi-retired Swedish musician best known as Tony Reno, the original drummer for the rock band Europe. He is best known for his work with the band Europe. He contributed to Europe’s first two albums, Europe and Wings of Tomorrow, as a member of the band. He left the band before the second leg of the Wings of Tomorrow tour in 1984, which was his last tour with them. Ian Haugland took over as his replacement. In 1986, Niemistö replaced Mikkey Dee as the lead singer of the sleaze rock band Geisha. Niemistö first went under the stage name Tony Lace, but he ultimately returned to his own name.
Geisha released their first album, Phantasmagoria, in 1987, but the band disbanded two years later due to personal reasons. The singer for Geisha, Yenz Cheyenne, went on to create the band =Y=, which included Niemistö. In 1991, they published an EP called =Y=, then in 1992, they produced an album called Rawchild. Niemistö is now based in Upplands Väsby, Sweden, where he is employed by a computer-related business.
