English musician Tony McPhee lived from 23 March 1944 to 6 June 2023. He started the blues rock group Groundhogs, who supported Champion Jack Dupree and John Lee Hooker during their UK performances in the middle of the 1960s. He is frequently referred to as Tony (T.S.) McPhee. When McPhee issued a duet track in 1966 called “Get Your Head Happy!” with Champion Jack Dupree, producer Mike Vernon advised adding the letters “T.S.” to his name to make it appear more like an actual blues name.
Early in the 1970s, The Groundhogs changed into a blues-rock trio that had three UK Top 10 songs on the UK Albums Chart. Nevertheless, they have been playing up to this point in different lineups.
