Tony Hawk is an American professional skateboarder and the founder of the skateboard company Birdhouse.
As a child, Tony discovered he was hyperactive and had to find something to focus on. After a talk with his school psychologist, Tony did the IQ test and the result was an IQ of 144.
Later, he went to Jean Farb Middle School from 1980 to 1981. But, skateboarding became his main interest, and he became a professional skateboarder at age 14.
He completed the first documented “900” skateboarding trick in 1999, licensed a video game series named after him published by Activision that same year, and is a pioneer of modern vertical skateboarding.
He retired from competing professionally in 2003 and is respected as one of the most influential skateboarders of all time.
Tony has been married four times; following his split with Riley’s mother, he married Erin Lee in 1996, and the couple welcomed two children, Spencer and Kegan before divorcing in 2004.
His third wife was Lhotse Merriam whom he married on 12 January 2006. The duo had one child, Kadence Clover Hawk, but Tony and Lhotse divorced in 2011.
