Lineker deploys the same boyish charm that has sustained his appearances promoting Walkers crisps on the sofa of Match of the Day, which he has presented since 1999. He has a five-year contract with the BBC, reportedly worth £2m a year. Another consistent earner has been his endorsement deal with Walkers, which is worth more than £1m a year.
