Jho Low, a Malaysian businessman, is one of the most wanted fugitives, suspected of funding Hollywood movies like “The Wolf of Wall Street.”
Jho Low is accused of embezzling $4.5 billion from the Malaysian government and spending it on films, lavish parties, and custom boats to cruise the world with his renowned friends.
It is dubbed “one of the greatest con jobs of all time,” which took place while the alleged culprit was rubbing elbows with some of the biggest names in Hollywood.
Low Taek Jho, known as Jho Low, is accused of orchestrating the enormous fraud, which authorities say was a conspiracy to divert US$4.5 billion from 1MDB to his accounts.

The lawyers submitted a defense on January 26 against a civil lawsuit brought by 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) and its subsidiaries.
Jho was reportedly living in Macau in a house owned by a senior member of the Chinese Communist Party, according to Al-Jazeera, in November 2020.

Jesselynn Chuan, the wife of Jho Low, has failed to obtain the citizenship of the Republic of Cyprus.
Jesselynn had applied for Cypriot citizenship in 2019, according to reports. According to a Malaysiakini report, London-based Henley & Partners assisted Jho Low and his colleagues in obtaining Cypriot citizenship.
Meanwhile, Jesselynn’s application was denied once Jho Low got exposed, and the citizenship-for-investment plan was under fire.
Jho Low got his Cypriot passport through the Cyprus Investment Plan, which requires a deposit of five million euros in a Cypriot bank for three years and the purchase of a permanent residence worth at least $500,000.
