Richard Timothy “Tim” Kring (born July 9, 1957 in El Dorado County, California) is an American screenwriter and television producer who is best known for the drama series Strange World, Crossing Jordan, Heroes, and Touch. Kring is a Jew. In 1983, he received his bachelor’s degree in cinematic arts from the University of Southern California. The television programme Knight Rider was Kring’s first work as a scriptwriter. Co-writing an episode of Misfits of Science (which, like his later effort Heroes, had super-powered people as a major subject) and Teen Wolf Too with Jeph Loeb were among his early ventures. When it came to making Heroes, Kring and Loeb would cooperate once again. With Dale Peck, Kring co-wrote Shift: A Novel (Gates of Orpheus Trilogy) in 2010. Following the termination of Heroes in 2010, Kring developed Touch, a drama centred on a father (Kiefer Sutherland) who learns that his silent kid has the ability to foresee future events. The series debuted on Fox on January 25, 2012, and was cancelled on May 9, 2013, after two seasons. NBC announced Heroes will returning as a 13-episode event miniseries titled Heroes Reborn on February 22, 2014, during their Olympics coverage. Tim Kring, the show’s creator, will be on board for the debut in 2015.
