Tim Callery has joined WMUR ABC 9 in Manchester, New Hampshire as a reporter. “I haven’t really been home since I went away for college, so this is kind of like a homecoming for me,” Tim told Mass Live. Tim joined WMUR from WGGB ABC 40/FOX 6 and WSHM CBS 3 (Western Mass News) where he had been since 2012. There he served as a reporter, photographer and producer and received a National Academy of Television Boston/New England Emmy nomination as well as several Massachusetts Broadcasters Association awards for his work reporting in Western Massachusetts.

Beyond his work in Western Massachusetts, Tim is no stranger to New England. After serving the TV news viewers of Western Massachusetts for more than four years, reporter Tim Callery has left the local market to head north. Beginning on Monday, Callery, a Lowell native, will be reporting for the Manchester, New Hampshire-based ABC affiliate WMUR-TV. “I’ve loved every minute of my time here. I’ll miss the people I’ve met in the field, the officials I worked with and the good people at Western Mass News — especially all the people behind the scenes who work so hard to put on each show,” Callery said. “This really has become my second home.”

Callery left Lowell to attend Westfield State University, which introduced him to the Pioneer Valley. From there, he was initially hired at CBS 3 Springfield as a photographer, but he quickly transitioned from a behind-the-camera guy to a reporter. Callery has covered everything from positive feature stories and sports to disasters and breaking news. On Feb. 18, 2014, former Western Mass News anchor Cherise Leclerc was in the Monarch Place TV studio when she heard a call of a standoff in the parking lot of a local hospital. She and Callery grabbed the keys to a CBS 3 SUV and headed straight to the scene.
