TikTok Fame: Were The Menendez Brothers Molested? Beverly Hills Murder Case
During the trial of the Menendez Brothers opened about their father had molested them for years.
During their first trial, defense counsel Leslie Abramson contended that Lyle and Erik killed their parents in self-defense because they trembled their parents would murder them if they went public about their father’s alleged abuse.
Lyle and Erik Menendez’s cousin, who was convicted of their parents’ murders in 1989, claims she has no doubt the boys’ parents sexually abused them.
During the summers, Vander Molen lived with the Menendez family and testified during the brothers’ first trial that Lyle revealed in her about the alleged sexual assault in the summer of 1976. Lyle was just eight years old at the time, and Vander Molen was seventeen.
Lyle and Erik testified at trial about their father’s alleged sexual abuse.
However, early in 2020, Court TV posted online footage of the entire months-long first trial, and TikTok became, somewhat unexpectedly, awash with Menendez brothers content

The Menendez Brothers Jail Sentence Details
Both brothers were later convicted on two charges of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder and confined to live in prison with no chance of release.
Due to a lack of proof immediately following the deaths, the brothers were given minimal suspicion. Still, doubts were aroused as they began to spend their inherited money in the months that followed lavishly.
Both were spending money on Rolex watches, sports vehicles, and abroad excursions in the interval between the killings and their arrests, which is believed to be approximately $700,000 (£496,234).
After exhausting all potential mafia leads, detectives concluded that the brothers’ financial motivations indicated they were most likely the killers; finally, Erik confessed to his psychologist about the killings, who informed the police via his wife.
Erik surrendered three days after returning from a tennis event in Israel, while Lyle was detained in March 1990.
“As I listen to the brothers’ account, what I hear is the sound of two people endlessly trying to explain – to a court, and to the world, but maybe also to themselves – why they did something awful”
