This is why the Republic of Uganda is one of the most beautiful places in the world [Photos]

Among all the countries in the world, Uganda is without a doubt one of the most beautiful places to live. Despite all the socio-political challenges, this beautiful region has been identified as one of the relatively stable and prosperous African nations.

The Republic of Uganda has made a visible and amazing shift from bad to good. With the highest time rate in Africa, Uganda has endured a 20-year insurgency.

According to Buzzfeed, Uganda is not only a land of beauty, but it ranks at the top of the most beautiful places in the world. What makes a place beautiful? A whole range of things can make a country beautiful. It could be economic, people (who are a nation’s greatest asset, by the way), technology, culture, landscape and so on.

When you are in Uganda there are some beautiful places to visit include; Mbale, Lake Mburo National Park, Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, Kidepo Valley National Park, Jinja, Fort Portal, LiraGaddafi Mosque, Kibale National Park, Ssese Island, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Murchison Falls National Park, Entebbe, Queen Elizabeth National Park, and Mount Elgon National Park.

By all accounts, the Republic of Ugandaits beauty depended on a natural endowment. The Republic of Uganda may not have all the other socio-economic advantages of the developed world, but the East African nation certainly has undiluted and rich natural beauties. It is so environmentally friendly that even technology and money cannot be bought.

From the Mountains of the Moon (Rwenzori) to the headwaters of the Nile and Lake Victoria are the intricate beauties of the tropical region. In addition, Uganda is the perfect place for the best wildlife experience. A trip to the Murchison Falls and the national parks will convince you.

Africa certainly has beautiful places. Last year the UN proclaimed Kigali, Rwanda’s capital, the most beautiful city in Africa. The award was based on the city’s natural decor, aesthetics and cleanliness.

Now the Republic of Uganda is in the spotlight on a larger scale. Perhaps why it is called the “Pearl of Africa”. Uganda is also beautiful for its natural and wildlife resources.

The Pearl of Africa may be small, but it is home to around 35.6 million people. The multilingual nation has citizens fluent in English, Swahili, Luganda, various Bantu and Nilotic languages.

With the attributed economic growth under Yoweri Museveni’s tenure, there is definitely more Ugandan fun facts to unfold.

In keeping with the development, CNN said in 2014 that the African nation has bounced back to become a “2-time tourist destination” in Africa and around the world.

Eating meat or chicken stews are popular in Uganda. Both are usually served with rice, ugali (a stiff corn porridge), chapatti, or matoke (a cooked plantain/banana porridge). Mandazi, a type of donut, is another sweet dish that Ugandan locals and foreigners tear to pieces.

Ugandan beans and chapati are similarly sweet and flavorful, although most people prefer to eat them with fresh avocado.

Street food is a good thing that most people, including tourists, cannot do without in Uganda. Favorites tend to be goat skewers, samosas or rolex (chapati with eggs, onions and tomatoes) and grilled corn.

Then comes fried bugs! the cutest of them all (only a handful of people will dispute this). Fried bugs are mostly in season for white ants, termites, or grasshoppers. A meal of properly fried beetles will leave most Ugandans wanting more. Just try it.

Finally, there’s this cute little banana that can only be found in Uganda (only about 4 inches long). The truth is, Ugandans eat more bananas than anyone else. They even have a banana-flavored beer (sometimes consumed in rituals and ceremonies), showing how important this fruit is to them.

Some other reasons why Uganda is considered to be one of the most beautiful places in the world as can be clearly seen from the photos below:

  1. The country is home to more than half of the world’s remaining endangered mountain gorillas.
  2. More than 1062 species of birds live here, or more than 58% of all bird species found in Africa.
  3. Tree-climbing lions are only found in Uganda. This is in addition to its vibrant nightlife, which is usually spent with beautiful women, handsome men and delicious beers.
