The Untold Truth of Randall Park’s Wife – Jae Suh Park

Who is Jae Suh Park?

Jae Suh Park was born on 5 April 1984, in Lodi, California, USA, and is an actress, best known for her work in the Netflix web series “Friends from College”. She is also known for being the wife of actor Randall Park, who’s popular for his comedic roles in various films and television shows.

The Riches of Jae Suh Park

As of early-2020, Jae Suh Park’s net worth is estimated to be close to $1 million, earned through her work in acting which has been significant in the past few years. She probably benefits from the success of her husband as well, as Randall has a net worth estimated to be over $1 million.

Career Beginnings

Jae Suh has lived her life mostly out of the spotlight, though she began taking acting projects as a young adult, with her television debut being in a guest role in “ER” in 2004. The medical drama series is the second-longest-running medical drama in US television history, previously holding the top position until it was overtaken by “Grey’s Anatomy”.

Her next project would come four years later, as she became a guest in “How I Met Your Mother”. The show was very popular during its time, running for nine seasons.

As the name denotes, it follows the story of how the main character’s life eventually leads to him meeting his children’s mother. The show won numerous awards and helped elevate many of its stars including Cobie Smulders and Neil Patrick Harris. Three years later, she appeared in an episode of the sitcom “The League”, which follows the lives of members of a fantasy football league and their everyday activities. The show was semi-improvised and ran for seven seasons.

Recent Projects – Friends from College

Park has had a lot more notable projects during the last few years, beginning with “The Mindy Project” in which she appeared as the character Anna; the show starred Mindy Kaling and aired for five seasons on Hulu.

She then made her film debut in 2015, appearing in a minor role in her only film project so far – “The Big Short”. The film is based on the Michael Lewis book “The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine”, which details the reasons for the 2007-2008 global financial crisis (GFC) caused by the housing bubble in the US. It featured an ensemble cast including Christian Bale, Brad Pitt and Steve Carell.

In 2015 she made a guest appearance in the show “Adam Ruins Everything”, appearing as Maya Cho in  the show hosted by Adam Conover, which is an educational series that aims to debunk common misconceptions in the US.

The show was created thanks to the popularity of the web series of the same name run by CollegeHumor. Two years later, she gained even more popularity as she became a regular cast member in “Friends from College”, the show featuring a group of friends in their 40s who are all Harvard alumni, engaging in various misadventures. It stars Cobie Smulders and Keegan-Michael Key.

Husband – Randall Park

Randall grew up in Castle Heights, Los Angeles, California, and is the son of Korean immigrants who moved to the US in search of better opportunities.

His father owned a photo store in the area while his mother worked as an accountant for the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). At a young age, he developed an interest in the performing arts, and helped create the largest Asian American theatre company at UCLA when he was a student there, and which sparked his desire to continue into the acting profession.

He graduated with a degree in English with a focus on creative writing, an aspect that would help him greatly in his career. He remained at UCLA, completing a master’s degree in Asian American studies.

Following his graduation, he worked as a graphic designer for the paper “New Times LA”, and even contemplated a career in architecture but decided against it as he didn’t want to go back to school. Eventually, he started appearing in television shows and films, fueled by the success of his theatre group which opened many doors for him.

The Success of Randall Park

Randall is known for his appearances in numerous films, mostly handling comedic roles. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), he was one of the comedic reliefs in the film “Ant-Man and the Wasp”, in which he portrayed FBI Agent Jimmy Woo, a role he is set to reprise in the upcoming web series “WandaVision”, which features the Marvel characters played by Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany.

He also worked with DC in the film “Aquaman”, playing the character Dr. Stephen Shin.

Apart from superhero films, he was one of the stars of the television show “Fresh Off the Boat”, portraying restaurateur Louis Huang, the father of chef Eddie Huang, which debuted in 2015. He also gained a bit of notoriety in his portrayal of North Korean president Kim Jong-un in the film “The Interview” which starred James Franco and Seth Rogen. Another notable role he had was as a guest in an episode of “The Office”, appearing as a part of a prank, pretending to be the character Jim Halpert, noted to be the one that elevated him to comedy stardom.

Personal Life

Jae Suh married Randall in 2008, and they have a child together. The family resides in the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles. The couple has worked together on several projects such as “The Mindy Project” and the short film “Love, NY”. They are strong supporters of the theatre scene, and Asian Americans getting more opportunities in Hollywood. They often appear in public events together, and love posting about each other in a comedic tone on social media. Randall once jokingly posted during their anniversary that they never show any vulnerability to each other and stay perfect at all times, a sarcastic remark that stereotypes Asians as strict perfectionists.
