Who is Juliette Buchs, the ex-wife of Matt Shultz?
Juliette Buchs was born in France, on 18 March 1983 – her zodiac sign is Pisces and she holds French nationality. She is a model and a social media star, but perhaps best known for being the ex-wife of Matt Shultz, the guitarist of the band Cage the Elephant.
Early life and education
Juliette was raised alongside her younger brother in France, by their father who was the owner of his own bakery, and their mother who worked at the same bakery.
Juliette grew up wanting to become an actress, but as she tested her skills at her high school’s drama club and realized she wasn’t talented enough, she concentrated on trying and become a famous model. She was noticed by a modelling scout before attending a single audition, and became a model while attending her senior year at high school. She matriculated in 2001 and chose not to pursue a college degree but to work to financially support herself, before being able to model full-time.
Career as a model
Juliette posed for many clothing brands and companies between 2003 and 2010, and later gained recognition in 2014 after she was featured in the music video “Cigarette Daydreams” by her husband’s band. Since their divorce, she has been staying away from the personal spotlight, but has continued to work as a model.
Love life and marriage with Matt
Juliette and Matt Shultz met at a party in 2011 organized by a mutual friend who introduced the two, stating that they were perfect for one another, and would one day marry – three years after that day, Juliette and Matt married in a private ceremony attended by around 30 of their closest friends and family.
They divorced in 2018 citing ‘irreconcilable differences’, while it is widely believed that they split because Juliette wanted children while Matt wasn’t ready to become a father – it is also believed by some that Matt was cheating on Juliette with Eva Daire, as they started dating shortly after his and Juliette’s divorce was finalized. In February 2020, Matt and Eva married.
Juliette hasn’t remarried and hasn’t been seen with any men since her divorce, so as of August 2020, she is single, was once married and doesn’t have children.
Hobbies and other interests
Juliette likes to watch movies in her spare time, and some of her favorite actors and actresses are Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie, while a few of her favorite movies are “Mr. and Mrs Smith”, “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”, and “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life”.
She was physically active during her 20s as she had several training sessions at the gym every week, and she also practiced yoga and martial arts, but stopped these activities in her early 30s. She is keen on travelling and has been all around the US and Europe with Matt and his band while they were still married – Cage the Elephant is still one of her favorite bands, while some other bands and performers she likes are Nirvana, Cigarettes after Sex, and Iron Maiden.
Age and height
Juliette’s age is 37. She has long brown hair and blue eyes, her height is 5ft 5ins (1.65m) and she weighs around 130lbs (58kgs).
As of August 2020, her net worth has been estimated at over $100,000 while Matt’s net worth is reputedly over $8 million.
Who is Matt Shultz?
Matthew Ray Shultz was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky USA, on 23 October 1983 – his zodiac sign is Scorpio and he holds American nationality. He is a singer, guitarist and a songwriter, who is probably only known for having played with Cage the Elephant.
Matt was raised alongside his older brother Brad, in Bowling Green by their father Brad Sr. who was a musician, and their mother who was a housewife – the family was very poor, and because of that, the boys’ mother divorced Brad and married Matt and Brad’s football coach. Being as poor as they were, the boys were nicknamed ‘Poor Boys’, and although Matt was an avid football player, he quit his school’s team because of his mother’s new boyfriend, and became focused on music.
His brother was a guitar player, and after he founded Cage the Elephant with Daniel Tichenor on bass guitar, Lincoln Parish on lead guitar and Jared Champion on the drums, he invited Matt to serve as their occasional guitarist.
While playing with his brother’s band, Matt still worked as a plumber to financially support himself, but hated the job, so he soon switched to working at a sandwich bar.
Matt has mostly been influenced by the American alternative rock band The Pixies, while he also enjoyed listening to and watching Iggy Pop.
He is interested in designing boots and has released his first boot collection with the help of The Frye Company in March 2019. Unsurprisingly Matt is also an artist, and held his debut art show in August 2019 in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn.
