The NYSC Anthem & Why You Should Know

An inspiring tune, “National Youth Service Corps Anthem,” is the finest way to describe the song that serves as the official anthem of the programme. Singing the NYSC song is a great way to boost Corps members’ spirits by constantly reminding them of their patriotic obligations. To their dismay, many would-be Corps Members need to be made aware of the words to the NYSC anthem or how to pronounce them.

This is why we have written the anthem; it will serve as a rallying cry for all participants in the plan. There are three stanzas to this anthem. Corps members and applicants should try memorising lines from the first three stanzas of “The NYSC Anthem.”

The NYSC Anthem

Stanza One

Youths obey the clarion call

Let us lift our nation high

Under the sun or in the rain

With dedication and selflessness

Nigeria is ours, Nigeria we serve.

Stanza Two

Members, take the great salute

Put the Nation first in all

With service and humility

NYSC for the noble youths

Make Nigeria a great nation.

Stanza Three

Far and near we come to serve

And to build our fatherland

With oneness and loyalty

NYSC for unity

Hail Nigeria, our great nation.
