Traditional television shows have continued to enthrall and enthrall their audiences over the years, however, when it comes to intense dramas set in hospitals, over-prescription is impossible. They do a great job of letting us talk about what’s going on in the medical world as it relates to life and life while entertaining us with a mix of drama, comedy, angst and probably love triangle even with online lives. The show centers on a talented young physician-surgeon, Dr. Shaun Murphy, who suffers from both Autistic Syndrome and Savant Syndrome. The series is simply phenomenal and the main character Shaun runs the show with his unique abilities and disabilities.
As a result of his disability, Murphy’s practice as a lifeline leaves a thousand and one questions in the minds of viewers, including the ability of an incapacitated doctor to communicate with humanity to save the lives of his patients. Background details and synopsis
The medical drama series is based on the award-winning 2013 South Korean series of the same name. Despite initial difficulties from series executive producer David Dae Kim, who starred in Lost, including the failure of the CBS network to sign a pilot episode in 2015, the series was able to receive a pilot commitment at ABC and eventually was ordered to a series in May 2017. A few months later, in September, she made her network debut and the following month the series was picked up. for a full season of 18 episodes. Creator and producer of the hit Fox medical drama, House, David Shore serves as showrunner.
The first season was met with rave reviews, especially on Highmore’s performance and strong television ratings. Thus, it was no surprise, but a huge delight for the fans of the show when it was renewed for a second season in March 2018. The season premiered on September 24, 2018.
Set in Vancouver, British Columbia, The Good Doctor follows a young disabled surgeon, Dr. Shaun Murphy, played by Freddie Highmore, who defies the odds to follow his dream. Born with autism and diagnosed with savant syndrome, he demonstrated impressive autistic behaviors such as aversion to touch, literal thinking, and actions. Dislodged from the rest of the world, he had to leave his life in the countryside to join a prestigious and highly competitive hospital, the surgical unit of Hôpital Saint-Bonaventure, in order to pursue his dreams and his passion.
Nevertheless, he overcomes all negations and malice that stand in his way and uses his extraordinary medical gifts to save lives while challenging the skepticism of his colleagues.
Each episode has a new story and it’s amazing how they show doctors’ personal lives simultaneously. As the series progresses, it comes to fruition by delving into themes such as disability, human emotions, trauma, and others. The series speaks from the heart and gives hope to people with limitations by empowering them to be and do whatever they have always dreamed of. It is indeed something more important than a TV show.
The good doctor season 3
The good doctor came to stay on our screens, and for a long time too if you agree with me. As such, it would require a long cast list, both as main and recurring characters, as well as numerous appearances. But everything could change in the coming season.
Although several castes left the series after the first season, such as Chuku Modu and Jessica Preston, many other cast members were promoted to series members in season 2 to even the balance a bit. Some of them include:
Paige Spara, who plays Murphy’s love interest and neighbor, Lea, Will Yun Lee and Fiona Gubelmann as surgical residents, and Christina Chang. Lisa Edelstein joined the show in Season 2 as Dr. Blaize, an oncologist who will help treat Dr. Glassman.
Nevertheless, we all know that Freddie Highmorene is going nowhere, yet. He is the life of the show with all the other cast members, including Antonia Thomas, Nicholas Gonzalez, Hill Harper, Tamlyn Tomita and Richard Schiff, circling around him.
While we don’t know who to expect in Season 3, let’s now see what their roles are.
Freddie Highmore as Dr. Shaun Murphy
Dr. Murphy is a character who challenges our view of life, love, pain, disabilities and friendship. The scholarly young surgical resident lives with the challenges of autism. His portrayal, however, received mixed to positive reviews, with some seeing it as somewhat exaggerated and inaccurate. He nevertheless makes you fall in love with him and the story. Apart from his on-screen roles, he is also a co-producer of the ABC drama series.
His elite performance was nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series, Drama.
Antonia Thomas as Dr. Claire Browne
Dr. Brown is one of Shaun’s colleagues and another surgical resident on Dr. Melendez’s team. She is among those who seek out the right doctor, Shaun, and form a friendly bond with him. As such, she does her best to help Shaun navigate the ins and outs of social interactions that don’t come easily to him.
Nicholas Gonzalez as Dr. Neil Melendez
Hunky Gonzalez plays an assistant cardiothoracic surgeon who supervises surgical residents. He’s no stranger to recurring and guest roles in dramas and comedies such as the final season of Pretty Little Liars and the drug-dealing narcos drama Narcos and brings something special and extraordinary to The Good Doctor. .
While he admires his bright young colleague, Shaun, he expresses considerable doubts about him and isn’t afraid to scold others. The conflicts between them, however, create a juicy drama that makes the series all the more impressive. Despite this, his character vacillates between respecting Murphy’s diagnostic skills and fearing that he is a danger in the operating room.
Hill Harper as Dr. Marcus Andrews
Dr. Marcus Andrews played by Harper Hill, a member of the hospital, the chief surgeon and a plastic surgeon. He was one of Murphy’s detractors. From the start, he strongly opposed joining the staff but began to calm down and come to terms with the decision because he had ambition; take advice and advance his career. Only time will tell if his ambitions will see the light.
Richard Schiff as Dr. Aaron Glassman
Caring and professional, Dr. Aaron Glassman, played by Emmy Award-winning Richard Schiff, captured Dr. Shaun’s interest and admiration. He has been her mentor and good friend since she was 14 years old.
He served on the hospital board as chairman, was a neurosurgeon, and was also responsible for securing Shaun a job at the hospital despite opposition from other board members. In Murphy’s life since his teenage years and knowing his abilities, he is determined to make others feel the same.
Will Yun Lee as Dr. Alex Park
Will Yun Lee plays a former cop who has decided to undergo a major career change to become a doctor. A surgical resident of Dr. Lim, he brings his experience within the force, such as reading people in the medical scene. This proves to be more than useful within the confines of the prestigious hospital.
Tamlyn Tomita as Allegra Aoki
The character of Tamlyn Tomita is a prime position in the hospital which ensures that it runs efficiently. She is chair of the hospital’s board of directors and vice-chair of the foundation that controls the hospital’s funding. While leading the foundation, she is convinced that the purpose of the hospital is to save lives. As such, she votes to give Shaun a chance despite her concerns about his ability to communicate with patients and doctors.

The first two seasons had 18 episodes, averaging over 17 million network viewers, beating out This Is Us and NCIS. .
One would expect the third season to have the same number of episodes as its counterparts, if any.
The Good Doctor Season 3 Release Date and Trailer
With season 2 still ongoing, there is currently no news of a third season. However, there is no indication of a cancellation and the show is expected to continue past its second season.
While it hasn’t been confirmed if we get a third season, impressive ratings suggest there’s a taste for it. With Season 1 premiering in September 2017 and Season 2 in September 2018, Season 3 could begin airing on ABC in September 2019 if the network agrees.
Fingers are definitely crossed on what to expect on The Good Doctor season 3, we don’t really know what the creators are going to have in store for us in 2019. The trailer might have given us a clue, but as the season is not yet confirmed, a trailer is still a long way off.
