The Black Crowes original members were Steve Gorman, Johnny Colt, and Jeff Cease. They were in the first incarnation alongside the Robinson brothers.

Steve played the drums and percussion, Johhny played bass, and Jeff played the guitars. The original crew made and released the band’s first studio album, “Shake Your Money Maker” on February 13, 1990.

After the album was released, the band decided to replace their guitarist Cease with Marc Ford. Johnny Colt left the band in 1997 and has never been back. Cease’s replacement, Ford was also fired in 1997.

However, Steve Gorman has left the band a couple of times and has returned to them as well. He first left in 2001 which forced the band to go on a hiatus the next year.

Gorman returned in 2005 but his return was short-lived as he parted ways with the band again in 2011. Steve’s final return to the group was in 2012 and once again he left in 2015 and has not been back with the group since.

The Black Crowes songs are 1. She Talks to Angels 2. Hard to Handle 3. Jealous Again. These are some of their most acclaimed songs.

All of these songs are from their debut album. The band took their time to release their first album, Shake Your Money Maker, but when the album came out in February 1990, it was one of the biggest debut album launches in history.

Needless to say, the song was a hit and also managed to peak at the number one spot on the mainstream rock charts in the States.

It is a cover of a 1968 song of the same name by Otis Redding. The subject of the track is a man trying to seduce a woman and desiring love.

Jealous Again

Jealous Again is the second track from their debut album. This song was also released as a single in 1990.

After release, it peaked at number five on the mainstream rock charts in the States. while managing to get charted in seven different countries including the USA.
