Season one of THE 100 showed the human species return to a wildly altered World following a 97-year exile in space… only to find that the human race has never really left. When they met destruction at any stage, Clarke felt herself pressured to lead a band of disposable juvenile delinquents: from a planet transformed by radiation, from the fierce Grounders who still managed to thrive in it, and, maybe worst of all, from themselves.
While Clarke was opposed and assisted alternately by rival chief Bellamy, the two shared a mutual objective: survival. Finn was helplessly attracted to Clarke during all of this, breaking his longtime friendship with the genius young mechanic, Raven. And Octavia got close to a potential Grounder enemy, Lincoln — some claim too close, too close. In the meantime, when The 100 struggled on the field for their survival, there was no better condition for The Ark. While Abby felt that the 100 were still alive, she had no documentation and was powerless to avoid Kane’s decrease in population. The murder of 320 volunteers and the ensuing recognition that it was in mistake broke Kane and sparked a revolt on the Ark that was unable to deter Jaha, considering his best efforts. The final episodes showed the real desperation of their situation, both on the field and in space, when our protagonists sacrificed everything only to remain alive. Everyone changed forever with valiant sacrifices and heartbreaking judgments, and leaving them scattering to the wind at the end of the season.
With the party already divided and anxious to be together, the epic second season picks up. As representatives of the 100 and the latest immigrants from the Ark take their positions in a risky and glorious new planet, the physical risk and moral dilemmas that arise with the strengthening of civilization are faced. What kind of existence are they going to construct? And what are they going to owe them? The hunt for this season will test them more than anything that’s ever occurred before. The hearts would be fractured. There will be missing lives. There will be heroes born.
The 100 refugees who were sent to Earth have been at battle for two seasons. First with themselves, then with the Grounders, then with Mount Temperature, and finally. There were those who lost their lives in the way. Everybody has lost their innocence. They have discovered the hard way, that there are no heroes and no villains in the battle for life. Only the living and the dying are there. But the fight is over now. The fight has been waged against Mount Weather. The prisoners have come home to a world apparently at ease, but after all they had to do to survive, will they find peace inside themselves? And is there anything than just living in life?
Their current feeling of normalcy, unfortunately, will be short-lived, and their lives will be altered forever, when both old and new challenges challenge their loyalties, drive them to their boundaries, and make them doubt what it really means to be human. They were struggling to live first. And there, they were battling with their families. They are going to war for the human race now…
