Tess Daly, an English television host, is well-known for her role on the Strictly Come Dancing celebrity dance competition on BBC One.
She was born in Birch Vale, Derbyshire, not far from New Mills, on March 29, 1969, to textile workers Felix James “Vivian” Daly and Sylvia (née Bradley).
Daly attended Hayfield Primary School before completing nine O-levels at New Mills Secondary School. She has a younger sister named Karen who is of English and Irish origin.
