Teresa Palmer was born to an investor father and a missionary/nurse mother named Kevin Palmer and Paula Sanders, respectively. She came into the world on February 26, 1986 in Adelaide, South Australia. Born from humble beginnings, Teresa Palmer is the only child of her parents. She was named after the Roman Catholic missionary Mother Teresa.
Palmer was raised by her parents in Adelaide, on her father’s farm, until she was three years old when the two divorced. His father would marry another woman called Kaaren Palmer, with whom he would have four children – two daughters and two sons.
